KUALA LUMPUR, 7 JUNE 2024 – On this Friday, more than fifty officers and staff of PERKIM assembled at the Dataran Dakwah for their usual monthly meeting.
The event began with the singing of “Negara Ku” and “PERKIM Pacu Kemajuan”, followed by a prayer / du’a delivered by Ustaz Muhammad Jais Mariappan Abdullah.
Among other statements, the Secretary General of PERKIM, Tan Sri Yusuf Noor said that Allah sent down the Quran to Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel so that His subjects can be disciplined and praise Allah, the Creator.
He said that in Islam discipline is important. If there is no discipline, it is probable that human beings become ferocious and wild as we see in the Israeli soldiers who unflinchingly kill and murder innocent women and children in Gaza, Palestine. Without discipline, we cannot appreciate the religion of Islam and cannot carry out ‘dakwah’. It was discipline that prepared Prophet Ibrahim AS to obey Allah’s command to slaughter his son Ismail AS.
Hari Raya Haji is an occasion that teaches man to portray examples of discipline, which in turn restricts and block any room for entry or victory.
Similarly, we in PERKIM are subject to laws and regulations that help us to rise above temptations. Here, we are all missionaries and we need not change our attire to be a dai; rather, our movements, behaviour and utterances should manifest the characteristics of a “pendakwah” with full discipline. Rebellion is tantamount to treason, unless what you rebel against is a sin. Although there are some who are not so disciplined, there is room yet for improvement.
The Secretary General ended his speech by wishing all a Happy Hari Raya Haji Aidil Adha.
More than 50 PERKIM members gathered at the June 2024 Assembly at Dataran Dakwah.

Dr Yusof Noor said Eid Hajj is an event that teaches people to be an example and emphasis on discipline.
Dr Yusof Noor urged his staff to upgrade their discipline from time to time in order to become successful.
