Speech Of The President

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.

Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuh.

I would like to express my utmost appreciation for the trust that has been placed in me to shoulder the responsibility as the new National President of the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM).

I also wish to record my heartfelt gratitude to the previous leadership for their immense contributions in leading PERKIM with wisdom, dedication, and unwavering principles.

The former leadership not only brought PERKIM to a commendable level, but also served as an inspiration to all of us in the true sense of dakwah and welfare work.

Carrying forward this legacy is by no means an easy task. However, with the strong support from all levels, I am confident that we can further strengthen PERKIM’s role within the landscape of modern dakwah.

We are currently facing complex global challenges, including the ongoing oppression of Muslims, as we are witnessing in the land of Gaza.

PERKIM must remain vocal and proactive in expressing its stance and in defending the rights and dignity of our fellow Muslims through approaches that are both effective and wise.

In the local context, we must reach out to our communities with a more inclusive approach—one that is rooted in compassion, continuous education, and sustained awareness.

Cooperation among states, including from Sabah and Sarawak, must be further strengthened to ensure that dakwah is carried out holistically, not just concentrated in certain areas.

I would also like to emphasise the importance of strengthening our administration, planning our financial needs more effectively, and structuring our programmes so that they are sustainable, impactful, and relevant to the needs of our time.

I call upon all PERKIM members to stand united, to contribute their energy and expertise, in order to realise our organisation’s mission to elevate Islam as rahmatan lil ‘alamin—a mercy to all creation.
