PERKIM Celebrates Its 64th Anniversary With Prayers and Reading of Surah Yasin
KUALA LUMPUR, 10 FEBRUARY 2024 – To commemorate the inauguration of sixty-four years ago, a slot for the reading of the Quran and surah Yasin at the Surau PERKIM, Bangunan PERKIM, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah.
Muhammad Hizam Abdul Rahim took the lead. Officers and staff of PERKIM, IDIP-KL and SCORE were present.
The Hon. Secretary General of PERKIM, YBhg Tan Sri Dr Mohd Yusof Noor, in his speech said the prayers were offered especially for the founder of PERKIM, the late Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj and the other leaders who have passed on.
Yasin is an important surah for Muslims. Through the years, the Quran has remained unchallenged, although the enemies of Islam have employed several tactics to defame it. It is our duty as Muslims to convey the message of Islam to non-Muslims.
In this country, non-Muslims are in contact with Muslims every day, yet they choose other systems of faith and worship.
Perhaps it is time we appraise our presentation of Islam to the non-Muslims and evaluate our methodology.
The main objective of Al-Marhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra in establishing PERKIM was to unite the different races in Malaysia through one religion.
Tan Sri urged the audience to always read the Quran, to improve their pronunciation of the Quranic text for Allah has promised great rewards for their efforts.
Abdul Qawi Navine Abdullah presided over this event.

Dr. Yusof Noor encourages his citizens to read the Al-Quran more because even if we recite the letters alone, we will receive a reward from Allah SWT.
