YTM Tunku Noor Hayati Chairs the 45th National PERKIM Women’s Annual General Meeting

KOTA BHARU, 27 APRIL 2025 – “I urge all members to carry out the trust of dakwah and welfare sincerely, set aside personal agendas, and strengthen our bonds of sisterhood to avoid slander,” said YTM Tunku Puan Sri Dato’ Hajah Noor Hayati Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj.

Tunku Noor Hayati, as the Ketua Wanita PERKIM, delivered her keynote address during the 45th National PERKIM Women’s Annual General Meeting held at Sri Makmur 2, H Elite Design Hotel, Tunjong, here on Sunday morning.

A total of 158 PERKIM Women members, comprising council members, delegates, and observers from across Malaysia, attended the meeting.

The general meeting commenced with the spirited singing of Negaraku and the PERKIM Women’s anthem, reflecting the pride and strength of womanhood.

This was followed by a recitation of the Holy Quran by the National and International Qariah Champion, YBhg Dato’ Hajah Faridah Mat Saman.

In her address, Tunku Noor Hayati also extended her Hari Raya Aidilfitri greetings and called upon members to pray for the victory of Muslims in Palestine.

She also expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the host for the thorough preparations, especially to the Chairperson of Kelantan PERKIM Women and wife of the Kelantan Menteri Besar, YBhg Datin Panglima Perang Wan Nor Hanita Wan Yaacob, as well as the Committee Members of Kelantan State PERKIM Women.

In her remarks, she reminded attendees that the annual meeting is not merely to fulfil constitutional requirements, but a platform to evaluate the past year’s progress and plan for the future.

She expressed hope and prayed that all dakwah and welfare efforts would be eased and blessed by Allah.

Tunku Hajah Noor Hayati also stressed that current dakwah challenges go beyond outreach to muallaf (new converts), and must also focus on combating social issues among Muslim youth.

She expressed her gratitude for the support from the Kelantan Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIK), which provides annual allocations to Kelantan PERKIM Women, and encouraged other states to pursue similar support.

Concluding her speech, she reminded members of the upcoming leadership election, urging them to elect sincere and capable individuals.

National PERKIM Women also declared their support for the Premier of Sarawak, YAB Tan Sri Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Abang Openg, as President of PERKIM in the upcoming 64th National PERKIM Annual General Meeting on 10 May.

She also offered prayers for the ease and safety of all pilgrims heading for Hajj and urged all attendees to continue praying for blessed dakwah efforts and the continued peace and prosperity of the nation.

The 45th National PERKIM Women’s Annual General Meeting proceeded with several key agendas, including the approval of the minutes of the 44th National PERKIM Women’s AGM; the acceptance of the National PERKIM Women’s Annual Report; the approval of the financial statements for the year ending 31 December 2024; the endorsement of the 2025 Budget Estimate; the election of delegates for the 64th National PERKIM AGM; and closing speeches.

Also present were members of the National PERKIM Women’s leadership: Honorary Secretary YBhg Dato’ Hajah Maznah Dasmi; Honorary Treasurer YBhg Dr Nur’azah Dato’ Abdul Manaf; Permanent Chairperson Hajah Hasnah Mohamed; Deputy Permanent Chairperson YBhg Datin Hajah Mazlin Darus; and Council Members YBhg Datin Mawanchik Che Jais, YBhg Datin Paduka Hajah Norsiah Haji Haron, YBhg Datin Hajah Normala Mohmad Zin, Hajah Norizan Ismail, Ustazah Maizura Shamsuddin, YBhg Dato’ Dr Hajah Munirah Mohd Hassan, YBhg Dato’ Hajah Nurzarina Haji Sepran, Azlifa Md. Idris, Norliza Haji Md. Yamin, and YBhg Datin Hajah Asmah Md. Rashid.
