PERKIM Women Strengthen Da’wah And Welfare Agenda, Elect New Leadership For 2026-2029

AMPANG, 26 APRIL 2026 – Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) Women’ reinforced its commitment towards da’wah and welfare initiatives while electing a new leadership line-up for the 2026-2029 term during its 46th National Annual General Meeting held at the Palmyra Ballroom, Level 1, De Palma Hotel here today.

The annual assembly, which commenced at 8am, gathered 141 delegates and observers representing PERKIM Women chapters nationwide, reflecting the members’ strong dedication towards advancing the organisation’s mission in a structured and professional manner.

The event began with the singing of the PERKIM Women anthem, followed by the recitation of verses 102 to 110 from Surah Ali Imran by PERKIM National Islamic Studies Class teacher, Dr Aisyah Jami’an. This was followed by a prayer led by PERKIM Nationalda’wahExecutive Ustazah Nur Syahirah Musa.

The meeting was subsequently conducted in an orderly and professional atmosphere, with PERKIM Nationalda’wahExecutive Ustaz Muhammad Farhan Tee Abdullah serving as master of ceremonies.


In her keynote address, PERKIM National Women chief, YTM Tunku Puan Sri Dato’ Hajjah Noor Hayati Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj stressed that the annual general meeting was not merely a constitutional requirement, but also a strategic platform to evaluate achievements, address shortcomings and chart a more sustainable direction for the future.

She called on members to continue strengthening ukhuwah and sincerity in carrying out their responsibilities, while emphasising the importance of transparency, openness and fairness in organisational governance.

“PERKIM Women is not a platform to determine who is right or wrong, nor is it a place to create champions. Instead, it is a welfare andda’wahmovement that demands sincerity and unity of hearts for the benefit of the ummah,” she said.

In a tone filled with compassion, Tunku Noor Hayati also urged Muslims not to forget the suffering endured by fellow Muslims in Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Iran, while encouraging those present to pray for their peace and victory.

She also expressed appreciation to all parties who have continuously supported PERKIM National Women, including council members who had served for more than 25 years across several leadership eras.

According to her, leadership continuity requires fresh, proactive and mature energy in line with increasingly complex contemporary challenges.

The meeting also approved the minutes of the 45th Annual General Meeting and the PERKIM National Women Annual Report, tabled by Honorary Secretary Dato’ Hajah Maznah Dasmi.

Meanwhile, Honorary Treasurer Dr Nur’azah Dato’ Abdul Manaf presented the financial accounts ending Dec 31, 2025, which were unanimously approved by delegates.

The highlight of the conference saw the dissolution of the PERKIM National Women Council for the 2023-2025 term before the election of a new leadership line-up for the 2026-2029 session proceeded smoothly.

The election results saw Tunku Noor Hayati once again entrusted to lead PERKIM National Women as its chief.

She will be assisted by Deputy Women Chief I Datuk Hajjah Hanifah H. Taib-Alsree and Deputy Women Chief II Datin Seri Dato’ Hajah Shamsiah Haji Md Yassin.

Hajah Hasnah Mohamed was appointed Permanent Chairperson, while Datin Mazlin Darus was named Deputy Permanent Chairperson.

Dr Nur’azah, who also chaired the election process, provided a detailed briefing on the election results before the Women chief introduced the newly elected leadership team, each of whom delivered brief speeches and presented their respective manifestos.

Delegates also deliberated and approved the estimated income and expenditure for 2027, in addition to selecting representatives for the 65th PERKIM National Annual General Meeting.

The conference continued with winding-up speeches by representatives from various states before concluding with a closing address by Tunku Noor Hayati, who underscored the importance of sustaining the organisation’s struggle based on sincerity and unity.

The event ended on a harmonious note with a photography session and luncheon. Adding vibrancy to the occasion were sales booths offering a variety of products, including PERKIM batik fabric, Terengganu crackers, traditional village chips, muruku prepared by Muslim converts, as well as clothing and cosmetic products.

Also present were members of the PERKIM National Women secretariat, including Fatin Hamizah Ismail, Ahmad Hasaidi Said, Mohd Aizat Rosli, Norlailialpin Suratman, Umi Musfirah Abdul Ghani, Siti Masliana Mohd Ariffin and Muhamad Fardly Johan, together with industrial training students from Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), Nurul ‘Izzah Salimi and Ummul Murshidah Mat Shuqi.

The annual general meeting clearly demonstrated PERKIM Women’s unwavering commitment towards empowering da’wahand welfare initiatives in an inclusive, progressive and holistic manner guided by Islamic values.
