Tunku Noor Hayati Chaired the 44th Annual General Meeting of PERKIM
KANGAR, 5 May 2024 – The Head of Wanita PERKIM Kebangsaan (WPK), YTM Tunku Puan Sri Dato’ Hajah Noor Hayati Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj chaired the 44th Annual General at the Seri Malaysia Hotel in Kangar, in here.
One hundred and sixty-five representatives from every state except Sabah were present at this meeting.
Tunku Noor Hayati said it was by the grace of Allah SWT that enabled everyone to congregate at Kangar for this Annual Meeting.
She wished everyone “Eid Mubarak” and hoped that the good deeds performed during Ramadhan would be accepted by Allah SWT.
She continued to comment on the “Seminar Pembangunan Mualaf” carried out in every state in 2023 until January 2024.
The outcomes were positive, as speakers were from various agencies, selected for the roles they perform for the betterment of the communities. Many attendees have requested that similar seminars be held in the near future.
Wanita PERKIM Kebangsaan has plans for a second Round Table Talks – on a larger scale and involving the male reverts, to discover the problems they face as new Muslims.
WPK took the initiative to produce and sell “Cappucino” and “Pomegranate for Detox” since 2023. There is a marketing plan where the states can benefit from their sales, aside from helping WPK to generate income to finance activities.
These products contain ingredients that promote health to consumers.
WPK is considering forming a committee to work on an agricultural project in Selangor to ensure food security for our reverts. Our lady reverts are encouraged to enrol as PERKIM members and beginning 2023, through our seminars, many have enrolled as members.
Tunku Noor Hayati thanked Datin Seri Shamsiah, the Deputy Head 2 of WPK and Wanita Perlis for agreeing to host this year’s Annual General Meeting in their home state – Perlis.
Delegates were happy and enchanted with the beautiful places they visited.
She also thanked Hajjah Faiza, a Council Member of WPK for contributing door gifts for the delegates and three beautiful hampers for the special guests.
Tunku Noor Hayati ended her speech with a quote from Surah Al-Baqarah , Verse 177: “It is not righteousness that you turn your faces towards the east or the west, but a righteous man is he who believes in Allah and the Last Day, in the angels and the Scriptures, and the Prophets; and gives his wealth – although he loves them – to his kinsfolk, and the orphans, and the needy, and the wayfarer, and the beggars, and for the ransom of slaves; who attends to his prayers and pays the alms-tax; and those who are true to their promises which they have made, and steadfast in trial and adversity and in times of war in the cause of Allah. (Such are) the truthful ones, (because of their beliefs and righteous deeds) and such are the God-fearing.”

Agenda
- Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting was read by Dato Maznah Dasmi, the Honarary Secretary of WPK, and passed.
- Treasurer Dr Nur Azah Dato Abdul Manaf presented the financial account for year ending December 2023 and the projection for 2024.
- Representatives from each state to attend the AGM of PERKIM in July 2024 were chosen.
- Kelantan agreed to host the 45th Annual General Meeting of WPK, 2025 in Kota Bharu.
- State representatives were given the chance to voice their comments / suggestions.
Adjournment
Tunku Noor Hayati declared the meeting adjourned with a closing speech in response to the delegates’ comments. She also wished everyone a safe and speedy journey home.
