PERKIM National Received RM2 Million from MAIWP

KUALA LUMPUR, 3 APRIL 2024 – The Muslim Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (PERKIM) received a contribution of RM two million from the Malaysian Federal Territory Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP) for their operational costs and activities.

A mock cheque was presented by Tuan Haji Sayed Kamarulzaman Sayed Kabeer to the Assistant Secretary General of PERKIM, Datuk Haji Mohamad Nordin Ibrahim, witnessed by the Deputy Executive Officer of MAIWP, Datuk Mohamad Nizam Haji Yahaya.

Other recipients of MAIWP’s contributions were:

  • Malaysian Indian Muslim Movement Organisation (GEPIMA) – RM 200 thousand,
  • Interactive Dakwah & Tarbiah (IDT) – RM 300 thousand,
  • Malaysian Dwarfs National Organisation – RM 50 thousand,
  • Malaysian Organisation of the Sight-Impaired – RM 50 thousand.

MAIWP also contributed gifts to 400 under-privileged persons present at this event.  Children who were present at that time received “duit raya”. Seventy reverts who were invited to be at the event received provisions / foodstuffs.

In all, MAIWP had contributed a total amount of RM 20.02 million.


PERKIM’s new brothers were present at the iftar registration session and help with food items.


70 new reverts of PERKIM registered their names in order to receive foodstuffs.
