PERKIM Honours Dedication and Service: Permanent Appointments Ignite New Spirit in Islamic Mission

KUALA LUMPUR, OCTOBER 23, 2025 – As a mark of appreciation for the dedication and loyalty of its employees, the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) today honoured 18 long-serving staff members from across the country during the PERKIM Commitment and Service Recognition Ceremony, held at the Level 4 Meeting Room, PERKIM Building, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, on Thursday morning.
The ceremony, held in a warm and celebratory atmosphere, also saw the presentation of Permanent Appointment Letters to 18 employees who have served the dakwah and welfare-based organisation for between 10 and 15 years.
The event commenced with a recitation of prayers led by Ustaz Zafri Ismaiskandar Abd Ghani, PERKIM Negeri Sembilan’s Executive.

In his address, PERKIM National Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Suariza Hidayah Muhammad, expressed gratitude to PERKIM’s Honourary Secretary-General, YBhg. Dato’ Dr. Haji Mohamad Marzukhi Mohamad Omar, for approving and signing the permanent appointments of long-serving contract staff who have demonstrated dedication and excellence in their work.
“This appointment is a recognition of the invaluable contributions made by staff who have served with the organisation for more than a decade.
They are not merely employees, but partners in our mission to carry out Islamic outreach and welfare efforts throughout Malaysia,” said Dr. Suariza.
She also conveyed appreciation to PERKIM’s top leadership for their trust and support, affirming that the permanent appointments serve as a renewed motivation for staff to continue serving with steadfastness and professionalism.
“We want every PERKIM officer to work with a clear vision. There must be goals, measurable performance indicators, and a sense of fulfilment in fulfilling our responsibilities.
This is the spirit we must nurture so that our dakwah efforts remain vibrant and meaningful,” she added.
Dr. Suariza also addressed the financial challenges faced by the organisation but assured that the new administration remains committed to safeguarding staff welfare.
During the session, staff members shared their reflections and gratitude upon receiving the permanent appointments.
Ustaz Ghazali Ismail, Executive of PERKIM Johor, expressed his heartfelt thanks for the recognition and suggested that PERKIM’s membership framework be further strengthened by offering added benefits, including the possibility of a special Hajj quota for long-serving members. He also proposed establishing transit centres in each state to provide temporary shelter for new Muslim converts in need of protection and support.
Meanwhile, Ustaz Zafri Ismaiskandar poetically likened the permanent appointment to “a contract now sealed in marriage,” symbolising the enduring bond between the staff and the organisation.
Siti Nasyrah Rosli, Executive of PERKIM Penang, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to gain experience at the national level before returning to serve her home state.
Ahmad Hasaidi Said, PERKIM National Administrative Executive, called for future appointment processes to be conducted systematically based on merit and length of service.
In his remarks, PERKIM National Finance Executive, Mohd Aizat Rosli, described his appointment as “an unexpected union” between staff and the organisation. Reflecting on his 11-year journey with PERKIM under various leaderships, he thanked the current management for resolving the long-pending issue of permanent appointments.
Also sharing his moving testimony was Muhammad Hani Waran G. Retnasamy Abdullah, Administrative Assistant of PERKIM Perak and a mualaf (new Muslim), who inspired his colleagues with his story of perseverance in the dakwah mission despite facing personal health challenges.
Rosnaliza Ahmadiah and Aishah Abdul Wahab, Assistant Executives from PERKIM Terengganu, reminded colleagues of the importance of teamwork among state offices in uplifting PERKIM’s image in the eyes of the public.
Siti Munirah Sayed Mohd Hamdan, PERKIM National Dakwah Executive, reflected on her 14 years of service filled with challenges, perseverance, and deep love for Islamic outreach work.
Among those also celebrated was Dr. Fatimah Imelda Abdullah, Executive of the PERKIM Stroke Community Rehabilitation Centre (SCORE), who shared her aspirations to expand professional staffing to enhance the centre’s services.
IDIPKB lecturer, Noorsaadah Md. Hanafi @ Md. Zain, suggested strengthening collaboration between IDIPKB and state PERKIM branches through annual joint programmes, while Suria Abdullah, who has served since 2009, expressed her gratitude for the 16 years of invaluable experience with PERKIM.
Other honourees such as Mohd Zafran Jabbar, Azura Abdul Rahman, Norlailialpin Suratman, and Fatin Akmal Aksah also conveyed their heartfelt appreciation, recalling their long journeys with PERKIM and pledging to continue serving wholeheartedly under a more transparent and caring leadership.
The ceremony concluded with a closing prayer led by Ustaz Ghazali, followed by the official presentation of Permanent Appointment Letters by Dr. Suariza to the honoured staff.
A group photo session ensued, filled with a sense of family spirit and heartfelt emotion among the attendees.
Dr. Suariza added that the permanent appointments were not only a recognition of staff loyalty but also a symbol of PERKIM’s appreciation for their steadfast devotion to the cause of Islamic welfare and missionary service.
“May this appointment inspire everyone to continue serving with excellence, consistency, and pride as members of PERKIM, a dakwah organisation devoted to the well-being and unity of the ummah,” she concluded.

The PERKIM Commitment and Service Recognition Ceremony was recently held at the PERKIM Headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.

According to Dr. Suariza, the appointment serves as a recognition of the staff’s long-standing contributions to the organisation, many of whom have been with PERKIM for more than a decade.

Dr. Suariza also emphasised that the confirmation of permanent positions will motivate all staff to continue serving with steadfastness, professionalism, and sincerity.

Ustaz Ghazali shared his personal experiences and reflections from his years of service with PERKIM Johor.

Nasyrah recounted her experiences in the field of da’wah and welfare during her tenure with PERKIM Penang.

Dr. Fatimah expressed her gratitude for receiving a permanent appointment while continuing her service at the PERKIM Stroke Community Rehabilitation Centre (SCORE).

Noorsaadah voiced her appreciation for being confirmed in her position at the Islamic Da’wah Institute of PERKIM Kota Bharu (IDIPKB).

Ahmad Hasaidi also shared stories and experiences from his service at both IDIPKB and PERKIM National Headquarters.

Mohd Aizat conveyed his gratitude to the new management for resolving the long-standing issue of delayed confirmations.

Siti Munirah reflected on the joys and challenges of navigating da’wah work, sharing her bittersweet journey of dedication and perseverance.

Rosnaliza, Assistant Executive of PERKIM Terengganu, expressed her joy and appreciation for her new appointment.

Aishah shared her happiness in carrying out her da’wah responsibilities under PERKIM Terengganu.

Suria reflected on her more than ten years of experience serving with PERKIM Federal Territory.

Azura recounted her service journey in the Finance Division at PERKIM National Headquarters.

Hani Waran shared his inspiring story of perseverance and sincerity in da’wah despite facing health challenges.

Zafran expressed heartfelt gratitude for his permanent appointment at PERKIM Melaka.

Riduan conveyed his happiness upon receiving his confirmation of employment.

Norlailialpin expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to serve for 14 years, gaining invaluable experiences throughout her career.

Fatin also shared her joy and appreciation for the recognition and honour bestowed upon her.
