KUANTAN, SEPTEMBER 27, 2025 – The Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) National, in collaboration with the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), organised the 21st edition of its Siri Kuliah Dakwah Perdana (SKOP) with the theme “Maulidur Rasul: Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) as the Reflection of the True Muslim Personality” at Sultan Ahmad 1 State Mosque here on Saturday morning.

According to programme coordinator, Nur Syahirah Musa, the event co-hosted with PERKIM Pahang and Sultan Ahmad 1 State Mosque – drew more than 160 participants, including new Muslims from diverse backgrounds such as Chinese, Indian, Iban, Kadazan, Bidayuh, and Siamese, alongside PERKIM members and the local Muslim community.

She noted that their presence demonstrated SKOP’s role as an inclusive da’wah platform, uniting different layers of society under the banner of Islamic knowledge.

The session opened with welcoming remarks by PERKIM National Senior Dakwah Executive Ustaz Muhammad Farhan Tee Abdullah, followed by an opening prayer led by PERKIM Pahang Executive Ustaz Muhammad Haqim Azwan.

In his keynote address, PERKIM National Senior Dakwah Executive Dato’ Haji Razali Haji Shahabudin emphasised that attending such gatherings was not a coincidence but a divine choice by Allah SWT, promising great reward.

“The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said that whoever treads a path in search of knowledge, Allah will ease his path to paradise. We are truly blessed to be in a gathering enveloped by divine mercy, surrounded by angels, and remembered by Allah,” he said.

Dato’ Razali stressed that the theme of this year’s SKOP was highly relevant, as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) embodied the true moral character of a Muslim. By following his example, Muslims can build exemplary personalities and become a source of mercy for all creation.

He further highlighted PERKIM’s recent efforts in Pahang, including the Muhibbah Programme with the Multiracial Chinese Community in Bera and the Muhibbah Programme with the Indigenous Community in Kuala Krau. Hosting the 21st SKOP in Pahang, he said, demonstrated PERKIM’s commitment to grassroots da’wah and welfare missions.

Earlier, PERKIM Pahang Committee Member Ustaz Abdul Halim Abdul Karim expressed gratitude to PERKIM National for choosing the State Mosque as the venue, describing SKOP as vital in strengthening the understanding of Islam, particularly among new Muslims.

Moderated by Ustaz Abdul Halim, the programme featured two panelists, State Mosque Grand Imam Ustaz Haji Mohd Rizzal Mohd Hanafi and Pahang Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MUIP) preacher Bro Mohd Ilham Tiong Tai Seng Abdullah.

In his talk, Ustaz Rizzal underscored that the Prophet’s central mission was to perfect human morality. Known as Al-Amin for his honesty and trustworthiness, he was trusted even by his adversaries.

“The Prophet (PBUH) was sent not only to convey revelation for 23 years but also to guide humanity in every aspect of life, from basic etiquette to governance. He remains the perfect role model,” he said.

He added that the universal values embodied by the Prophet, honesty, truthfulness, trustworthiness, and compassion, are essential for Muslims in Malaysia’s multiracial society, serving as the key to harmony and unity.

Meanwhile, Bro Ilham Tiong reflected on the Prophet’s patience in waiting for divine revelation when questioned by the Quraysh, underscoring his unwavering obedience to Allah. He also shared his personal journey to Islam, noting that the uniqueness of Islam lies in its uncompromising monotheism.

“Islam’s clarity in affirming that only Allah owns the universe is what led me to embrace the faith,” he said.

He cited the Prophet’s experience in Taif, where despite being insulted and attacked, he chose to pray for the people’s descendants to one day embrace Islam.

“The Prophet’s mercy outweighed anger, and indeed his prayers were answered,” he added.

During the second session, Ustaz Rizzal reminded participants about the ethical use of social media, stressing that every post whether text, image, or video, carries consequences, rewarding or sinful.

Bro Ilham recommended strengthening the teaching of the Prophet’s biography in schools, suggesting that primary students should be introduced to his honesty and trustworthiness, while secondary students should focus on his leadership and da’wah strategies.

The programme concluded with a presentation of souvenirs, including PERKIM’s Special Edition Qur’an, to the panelists by Dato’ Razali, who also handed over a RM10,000 mock cheque from Yayasan Taqwa-MAIWP to PERKIM Pahang Honorary Secretary Mahadi Deraman for health equipment aid to asnaf and new Muslims in the state.
