KUALA LUMPUR, SEPTEMBER 29, 2025 — The Kelantan State branch of the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening da’wah efforts, particularly among youth, following an official visit by its Da’wah and Welfare Subcommittee to the PERKIM National Headquarters at Bangunan PERKIM, Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah, here on Monday afternoon.
The 10-member delegation was led by Dato’ Haji Hassan Mohamood, Chairman of the Kelantan PERKIM Da’wah and Welfare Subcommittee, and accompanied by Kelantan PERKIM Honorary Secretary, Tuan Haji Mohamed Nazir Che Ibrahim.
They were warmly received by the national leadership team headed by PERKIM Honorary Secretary-General, Dato’ Dr Haji Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar.
In his address, Dato’ Haji Hassan expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome extended by the headquarters, while outlining Kelantan PERKIM’s renewed focus on revitalising da’wah activities among teenagers and young adults.
“For nearly three years, we have been working to reactivate the PERKIM Bachok Branch as a sponsoring branch with a specific focus on engaging young people.
“Every week, we organise motivational and spiritual programmes designed to guide and nurture them.
“This initiative reflects Kelantan PERKIM’s unwavering commitment to engaging youth in a continuous and meaningful way,” he said.
He also proposed that more Kelantanese youths be brought to Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the national headquarters, to participate in self-development and leadership enhancement courses.
“We aim to involve between 30 and 50 young participants in structured training programmes supported by PERKIM at the national level,” he added.
Meanwhile, Dato’ Dr Marzuki, in his remarks, shared his personal experience in the field of da’wah in Sarawak, his home state, where Muslims make up only about 32 percent of the population.
He noted that spreading Islam in areas dominated by non-Muslims requires wisdom, tact, and patience.
“One of the greatest challenges is maintaining the retention of faith, ensuring the continuity of one’s commitment to Islam. There are cases where individuals embrace Islam but gradually lose their religious adherence due to various environmental influences,” he said.
“Sometimes, we encounter unique situations where converts ‘take a break’ from Islam by neglecting prayers or becoming involved in prohibited activities. But this is the reality of da’wah work. Our duty is to continue guiding them with compassion, for guidance ultimately belongs to Allah.
“Da’wah is not about coercion, but about steadfastly calling people toward the truth,” Dato’ Dr Marzuki emphasised.
He reminded that despite the many challenges, Islam’s growth from a small group during the Prophet’s time to over two billion followers today proves that sincere da’wah efforts will never be in vain.
“The young people who come to PERKIM today are living proof that da’wah bears fruit. They are our hope and the heirs to this noble struggle,” he concluded.
The session continued with an open dialogue between PERKIM Kelantan and PERKIM National, providing an avenue to exchange ideas and discuss collaborative strategies.
PERKIM National Chief Executive Officer, Dr Suariza @ Hidayah Muhammad, lauded Kelantan PERKIM’s proactive initiative in expanding youth-focused da’wah programmes, assuring that the headquarters remains open to cooperation and ready to provide training modules and facilitation support.
Also present were Senior Da’wah Executive, Dato’ Haji Razali Haji Shahabudin; Development and Asset Executive, Dato’ Ahmad Mustafa; Administration Executive, Ahmad Hasaidi Said; Da’wah Executives, Ustaz Muhammad Farhan Tee Abdullah, Nur Syahirah Musa, and Ustaz Sulaiman Ding Yu Zhong.
The visit marked a significant step in reinforcing cooperation between PERKIM Kelantan and the national headquarters, a partnership aimed at nurturing future generations of youth leaders driven by Islamic values and compassion in service to the ummah.

Dato’ Hassan (centre), in his address, expressed gratitude and appreciation for the warm reception extended by the headquarters, particularly by the Honorary Secretary-General.

PERKIM Kelantan reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening its da’wah agenda, with particular emphasis on youth engagement.

A total of 10 delegates from the Kelantan PERKIM Da’wah and Welfare Committee made an official visit to PERKIM National Headquarters.

According to Dato’ Hassan, it has been nearly three years since efforts began to revitalise the PERKIM Bachok Branch as a sponsoring branch with a special focus on youth development.

Dato’ Dr Marzuki, in his speech, shared his da’wah experiences in Sarawak, his home state, where Muslims comprise only about 32 percent of the population.

The PERKIM Honorary Secretary-General also explained that da’wah efforts in areas with a non-Muslim majority require an approach that is wise, tactful, and patient.

Dato’ Ahmad also contributed his ideas and shared his experiences during the visit.

The delegation members and the PERKIM National leadership took the opportunity to capture a group photo as a memento at the end of the visit.
