KUALA LUMPUR, 27 MARCH 2024 – On this Wednesday, the staff of Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) held and event to respect and relish the month of Ramadhan at the Dataran Dakwah, PERKIM Building.
All 60 members comprising staff and officers of PERKIM, Institut Dakwah Antarabangsa PERKIM Kuala Lumpur (IDIP-KL), Pusat Pemulihan Komuniti Strok PERKIM (SCORE), Asrama Darul Falah (ASDAF) PERKIM and TASPUTRA PERKIM.
Tan Sri Dr Mohd Yusof Noor, the Hon. Secretary General of PERKIM wished everyone success in their fasting and a Happy Aidil-Fitri, a celebration following Ramadhan.
It was Nuzul Al-Quran night – a blessed night for the Muslims, when the Angel Gabriel came down to Prophet Mohammad SAW with a message to be passed down to us all. On this night, Muslims in groups take turns to read the verses of the Quran.
PERKIM invited new reverts to take part in this. They were also encouraged to supplicate and pray, to recite the Quran, perform night prayers, especially on the last ten days of Ramadhan. Tan Sri urged everyone to pray for the well-being of their family, for PERKIM and all Muslims, especially for the Palestinians who are at war.
Our Holy Book, the Quran holds messages and guidelines for us from Allah Al-Mighty. We are lucky to be born Muslims but we should realise that the non-Muslims who had accepted Allah’s call are better Muslims, whose past sins are obliterated upon their acceptance of Islam.
These new reverts study Islam consistently as we see in brothers Firdaus Wong Wai Hung and Lim Jooi Soon, and thus they become better Muslims than born-Muslims who do not pursue deeper knowledge of this religion.
Tan Sri Dr Yusuf Noor urged his staff to intensify their supplication, to observe night prayers, to give alms especially during the last ten days of Ramadhan. He wished them a Happy Aidil-Fitri and “Maaf Zahir & Batin”.
Farhan Tee hosted a Majlis Kasih Ramadan with National PERKIM Citizens.
