Dayak Bidayuh Youth Accepts Islam
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 JUNE 2024 – Hendrick Stanley, 27, is of Dayak Bidayuh ancestry from Sarawak. He is currently employed in a printing factory in Shah Alam.
The Articles of Faith and the Pillars of Islam, the expected behaviour of a Muslim and the few acts forbidden in Islam were explained to Hendrick by Ustaz Muhamad Suhaimi, the chairman of PERKIM Branch of Dato Keramat.
He was also told not to neglect his parents and family even though they practise different beliefs; he is to pray only to Allah and not to any other god.
Hendrick then vocalised his syahadah in front of the Community Preacher of YADIM (Yayasan Dakwah Islamiah Malaydia), Ustaz Rustam Jamali Mohd Zubir, witnessed by the Secretary General of PERKIM, Tan Sri Dr Yusuf Noor, Haji Amran Anbarasu Abdullah dan Hendrick’s brother-in-law, Kamarul Arifin Muhamad Nordin.
Hendrick said he felt a big sense of relief and happiness after his syahadah.
After completing his registration as a Muslim, Hendrick was given a kit containing a Quran, books on Iqra’ and a prayer guide, a prayer mat and outfit by Tan Sri Yusuf Noor, who hugged him and wished him well.
