CHIANG RAI, 8 June 2025 – The 2025 Jaulah Dakwah dan Korban programme organised by the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) National Headquarters continued with the sacrificial rites involving six cows and nine goats. The meat was distributed to the local Muslim community at the As-Siddiqin Foundation Madrasah in Mae Pao, Phaya Mengrai.

According to PERKIM’s Senior Director of Dakwah, YBhg. Dato’ Haji Razali Haji Shahabudin, Aidiladha symbolises obedience to Allah SWT, as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim a.s. who was willing to sacrifice his son, Prophet Ismail a.s. in submission to Allah’s command.
He added that their presence with 130 children from the As-Siddiqin Foundation — comprising orphans, reverts, and underprivileged children — proves that qurban is not merely a ritual, but also an act of love and solidarity that Muslims should uphold wherever they are.
Following the sacrificial process, the children of As-Siddiqin, together with their families and villagers, worked hand-in-hand to skin and butcher the animals in a gotong-royong spirit.
The atmosphere became deeply emotional during the Aidiladha Open Day, especially when families from different regions — including neighbouring Laos — were reunited with their children after nearly a year apart.
Dato’ Razali shared that some non-Muslim parents were moved to tears upon seeing the positive transformation in their children, who now exhibit noble character and Islamic manners. Some family members were so touched that their hearts opened to Islam.
On that very morning, 18 family members embraced Islam by reciting the shahadah, led by the Co-Founder of the As-Siddiqin Foundation, Ustaz Yusuf Wanngoh. The moment was filled with heartfelt hugs, kisses, and tears of joy.
In the afternoon, the PERKIM delegation visited the Muser tribal village, a 15-minute journey through Kampung Mie Pao and the Mong tribe area, navigating hilly plantations of mango, longan, and banana in four-wheel-drive vehicles.
The group warmly engaged with the Muser villagers, checked on their wellbeing, and distributed snacks to the children. The villagers expressed their happiness and took photos to commemorate the visit.
That evening, the As-Siddiqin children performed nasyid and Quran recitation while donning traditional attire from Chiang Rai’s major ethnic tribes including Hmong, Muser Akha, Karen, Lahu, Lisu, Yao/Mien, and Palaung, much to the delight of the PERKIM delegation.
During the event, Dato’ Razali advised the children to always pray for their parents and families to receive divine guidance.
He also prayed for continued blessings on the As-Siddiqin Foundation’s efforts in dakwah, welfare, and education.
“May Allah SWT bless our missionary efforts in spreading Islam in the land of Chiang Rai,” he concluded.
The event ended with Dato’ Razali presenting contributions to the As-Siddiqin Foundation and its teachers.
