KUALA LUMPUR, March 11, 2026 – The spirit of togetherness and compassion in conjunction with Ramadan was vividly demonstrated as the National of the Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) Women distributed 500 portions of bubur lambuk to three PERKIM institutions as well as the surrounding community today.
The distribution benefited TASPUTRA PERKIM, Asrama Darul Falah (ASDAF) PERKIM, and the PERKIM Stroke Community Rehabilitation Centre (SCORE), in addition to PERKIM staff, new converts, and members of the public around the organisation’s headquarters.

Honorary Treasurer of the National PERKIM Women, Dr. Nur’azah Dato’ Abdul Manaf, said the programme was part of the wing’s welfare initiatives aimed at further enlivening the spirit of Ramadan while reaching out to residents of PERKIM institutions, who are regarded as part of the organisation’s extended family.
She noted that the initiative also sought to nurture compassion, strengthen bonds of ukhuwah (brotherhood), and express care for those in need, particularly special needs children, Orang Asli students, and patients undergoing rehabilitation.
“Ramadan is a time for sharing sustenance and amplifying charitable acts. Through this distribution of bubur lambuk, we are not only reaching out to PERKIM institutions but also conveying the message that they are remembered and valued by society,” she said.
She added that such efforts are expected to foster a spirit of volunteerism among PERKIM members while inspiring the wider community to continue engaging in charitable deeds throughout the blessed month.
Earlier, freshly prepared bubur lambuk was packed into 500 containers before being neatly arranged in boxes for distribution. The porridge was specially prepared by experienced chefs from Hotel DePalma Ampang to ensure quality and authenticity in line with Ramadan culinary traditions.
Dr Nur’azah, accompanied by National PERKIM Women’s Development Executive Fatin Hamizah Ismail, began the distribution mission at TASPUTRA PERKIM in Taman U Thant, which caters to special needs children.
Upon arrival, she signed the visitors’ book and was received by TASPUTRA administrative assistant Norhafizah Buang. She later handed over 50 containers of bubur lambuk to TASPUTRA chairperson Hajah Elahe Norman for distribution to the centre’s residents.
The delegation then proceeded to Asrama Darul Falah PERKIM in Bukit Persekutuan, home to Orang Asli students pursuing their education. During the visit, more than 60 containers were presented by Dr Nur’azah to ASDAF administrative and finance assistant Raihan Rosli, in the presence of the students residing at the hostel.
The programme continued at the PERKIM Stroke Community Rehabilitation Centre (SCORE) in Bandar Baru Sentul, where the delegation was welcomed by SCORE executive Dr Fatimah Abdullah, who received 30 containers for distribution to patients and staff.
Following visits to the three institutions, the delegation returned to the PERKIM headquarters, where the remaining bubur lambuk was distributed to PERKIM staff, new converts, congregants of the PERKIM Friday prayer surau, students of the PERKIM National Islamic Studies Class (KPIPK), and the public in and around the PERKIM building.
The programme was supported by secretariat members Mohamad Fardly Johan and Mohd Firdaus Pompeyos Abdullah, who played key roles in ensuring the smooth implementation of the distribution.
Such charitable initiatives reflect the National PERKIM Women continued commitment to strengthening welfare efforts and fostering unity among PERKIM members and the broader community throughout the holy month of Ramadan.
