KLUANG, 29 November 2025 – The Ziarah Muhibbah outreach programme for the Indian multiracial community, jointly organised by the National Muslim Welfare Organisation Malaysia (PERKIM) and the Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council (MAIWP), was held after the Zohor prayers across several areas in the Kluang district.
The programme, conducted with the support of PERKIM Kluang Branch and the Malaysian Indian Reverts Association (MIRA) Johor, brought together 15 volunteers focusing on assisting vulnerable and underserved communities.

Programme coordinator, Ustaz Muhammad Jais Mariappan Abdullah said the initiative serves as a platform to reach out to Indian families including the poor, persons with disabilities, chronic patients and those in need of immediate attention.
He said such grassroots efforts have long been part of PERKIM’s tradition to safeguard the welfare of Malaysia’s diverse communities regardless of background.
According to him, every visit aims not only to deliver aid but also to convey compassion, empathy and humanitarian values — fundamentals that uphold national unity.
He added that the programme was meticulously planned to ensure each family visited receives appropriate support.
Each member of the delegation was assigned specific roles, including attending to bedridden individuals, assessing daily needs, distributing food aid and offering moral support to affected families.
He said the delegation’s presence brought smiles and relief to the households visited, further proving that the spirit of mutual respect and togetherness remains strong within Malaysia’s multicultural society.
The first home visited was that of Ustaz Mohammad Hussain Abdullah Al-Hind, 78, in Taman Mengkibol. The delegation was warmly received by his family.
Ustaz Hussain, formerly the author of PERKIM’s Basic Fardu Ain book in Tamil, has been bedridden due to stroke complications. He also suffers from glaucoma and lung infections that have affected his health for the past five years.
His daughter, Syafinas Mohammad Hussain, shared that her father had served as a National PERKIM Dakwah Officer before retiring in 1997, later returning temporarily to assist PERKIM Johor and remaining active with the Tabligh congregation in Seri Petaling.
He was also remembered for teaching at Kajang Prison, where several inmates embraced Islam under his guidance.
At the end of the visit, National PERKIM Administrative Officer Ustaz Amran Anbarasu Abdullah presented food aid and a token contribution to the family.
The delegation then continued its rounds with guidance from Raman a/l Kuppusamy, a member of Urimai Kural Malaysia, to the home of Sarojini a/p Sadayan at Jalan Adam Hussin, a single mother.
At Jalan Ilham 46, the group visited Pramaladavi a/p Nadarajan, a full-time housewife caring for her husband who is a stroke survivor and registered OKU.
The next stop was Sivasrathi a/p Ellomalai at Jalan 12, who is also suffering from stroke and expressed gratitude for the delegation’s concern.
The team later visited Shakun Tala a/p Ramasamy, a part-time worker renting a room and struggling after the death of her husband.
At Jalan Suria 7, they reached out to Puspa a/p G. Pavadai, a single mother living with her six children and grandchildren under challenging conditions.
A few houses away, the delegation visited Sreetharan a/l Kanna, who lost his left arm in a factory accident 10 years ago. He also suffers from mild stroke and lives with his wife and youngest child.
At Jalan Talapia, they visited Vijeyen a/p Konagini, a wheelchair user whose right leg was amputated due to diabetes. She is also a single mother.
Not far from there, the group walked to the home of Durga Devi a/p Saravanan, wife of a security guard and mother of three young children, who rents a house for RM900 a month.
Nearby, they visited Pramaladavi a/p Nadarajan, a single mother who lost her husband to heart disease in 2001 and now lives with her child.
The final visit took place at Jalan Pelangi Indah 3, where the delegation met the wife of Ustaz Mohd Shafiq Vijaya Abdullah, who has been undergoing dialysis for kidney disease 16 times a month for the past 12 years.
According to Ustaz Shafiq, the treatment is supported by the Johor Islamic Council’s Baitulmal, which has helped ease the family’s financial burden.
Each family received essential food supplies such as rice, flour, cooking oil, biscuits, instant noodles, milk, beverages and cash assistance.
The programme also saw the participation of Azura Abdul Rahman, Fatin Akmal Aksah, Mualish Shah Haji Mohd Anuar and Ustaz Muhammad Rosyam Abdullah, who assisted in delivering aid and engaging with the families.
The outreach not only offered hope to recipients but also strengthened the spirit of unity among the district’s multiracial community.
